David Shackleton
David is a PPDM Certified Petroleum Data Analyst (CPDA) and Business Development Manager for Independent Data Services at Schlumberger Canada. He is Chair of the Society of Petroleum Engineers Calgary Section, leads the SPE Gaia Sustainability Program Pathway ‘Measuring what Matters’ and recently set up the new SPE Methane Emissions Management Technical Section (MEMTS). David is dedicated to supporting clients and industry colleagues to optimize operations to reduce carbon emissions through improved data management practices, including the automation of data collection, reporting & analytics; and tracking carbon emissions through the supply chain.
David has been organizing annual energy-focussed datathons with Untapped Energy since 2018, which aim to develop data skills, subject matter knowledge, and provide networking opportunities.
