He is an AI Systems Engineer leading innovations within the power and utilities sector. His expertise is designing asset optimization systems leveraging AI for wind turbines, solar farms, and power plants. Beyond the optimization field, Wish also builds commodities trading systems for trading firms in the US. Wish is also a lecturer at Queens University, where he teaches leaders how to maximize value from their analytics teams by leveraging machine learning. Wish shares a collective appreciation for the impact of technology on creating a sustainable future. Off the clock, he practices Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, acknowledging that his best moves are now a distant memory. **TOPIC**: "From Grid to Great: AI's Role in Grid Transformation" We are amid a generational grid transformation. The power grid is evolving to meet the two-fold challenges of surging electricity demand and the integration of renewable energy sources. This talk delves into the role of AI in navigating these challenges, from assisting grid stabilization against the variability of wind and solar power to optimizing battery storage and managing the complex balance of supply and demand. Wish will discuss how machine learning can help enhance grid resiliency and pave the way for a smarter, more sustainable energy future. AI is not the hero of our story, but it certainly can be the sidekick. Second up is Kerry. Kerry is the Innovation Designer and Ignition Lead from KPMG. Kerry helps clients solve complex business challenges using innovation methods grounded in Design Thinking. Kerry leverages her extensive background in research and facilitating innovation through human-centred design, design thinking, speculative design, and the creative process which is augmented by her skills in emerging technologies and prototyping. Kerry has a Master of Industrial Design and spent many years teaching all facets of design in higher education and as a consultant leading design-led innovation with clients in a variety of industries. **TOPIC**: Kerry will talk about what KPMG is doing in the area of AI for our clients and how we are leveraging Gen AI internally.
