**Event Description:**
Angela will be speaking about the ongoing quest in her career of championing shifting quality to the left. She will encourage you to be the change you want to see, share effective strategies to create alignment and partnership inside of your teams, and challenge you to level up your organization in its ability to deliver quality in your products. Traditional quality assurance (QA) practices often involve testing towards the end of the development cycle, leading to late-stage bug discoveries, rework, and ultimately delays in releases. However, by shifting quality to the left, teams can embrace a more proactive approach to ensuring software quality from the very beginning of the development process.
In this talk filled with workshop style activities, we’ll explore the concept of shifting quality to the left and how it can transform the way we approach development. By incorporating quality practices early in the process—during planning, design, and coding—we can reduce defects, improve collaboration, and deliver better software faster.

Angela Henders is a full-stack developer, founder, certified Scrum Master, and former QA manager. She co-organizes the Calgary Agile meetup, and leads the Reboot Regroup and Reignite meetup group under the umbrella of Calgary's Untapped Energy. She volunteers and coaches for Platform Calgary's Discover program and Techstars startup weekend. Angela is passionate about the benefits of using agile principles, shifting quality left, fostering community, and continuous learning.
